Nike LeBron IX “Watch the Throne”

Having left many on their hunger during its first “Friend’s & Family” release in 2011, the Nike Lebron IX “Watch The Throne” is now offered to the general public for the 10th anniversary of the model. This shoe, inspired by the classic “Watch The Throne” by Jay-Z and Kanye West, takes the codes of the cover of this album imagined by Riccardo Tisci, then art director of the house Givenchy.

The elements of this pair bring back the common points between the basketball culture, hip hop and high fashion. The deep black upper features gold metallic details in reference to the collaboration between Jay-Z and Ye, while the multi-colored patterns of the inner lining are directly inspired by those used by Givenchy. The icy outsole and mesh emphasize the performance side of the pair. The result is both powerful and highly sophisticated.
